Aspire House: Google Professional Certifications

In the spirit of collaborating to build up our neighborhood, Aspire House is pleased to share an exciting new opportunity!

Through the support of our community partners at 16 Tech, Aspire House is offering 10 full scholarships to support individuals in completing a Google Professional Certificate program offered through the Coursera digital learning platform.  Aspire House is seeking nominations from community organizations in the Near Northwest Community, including Northwest Planters, Golden Hill, Riverside, Rivers Edge, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, KW30, and Northwest Civic. 

This inclusive program is targeted at candidates looking to re-enter the workforce or make a career transition, or those interested in the field of technology, project management and more.

Who are we looking for?

Please help us promote this opportunity by nominating candidates who are:

  • 18 or older
  • Living in one of the seven Near Northwest Communities (Northwest Planters, Golden Hill, Riverside, Rivers Edge, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, KW30, and Northwest Civic)
  • High School Graduates or hold a GED Equivalent
  • Self-starters, ambitious, driven
  • Organized
  • Committed to a growth mindset
  • Coachable, Interested in learning
  • Curious Problem-solver
  • Have access to technology and Internet

Course Information

What are the certification areas supported by Aspire House?
There are four options of Google Professional Certifications: IT Support, Data Analytics, Project Management, and UX Design. Learn More.

When will the program start? 

The course will officially begin July 1, 2021. We will have a 2-week introduction to programming at the end of June.

How long does it take to complete the course?

The course is self-paced and each participant will work with their mentor to find the right time balance. The course must be completed in 30 weeks (anticipated end date: Feb. 22, 2022) or less.

Will I have support? 
Each participant will have their own career mentor, support through Coursera instructors, and an Aspire House Grow with Google Lead Mentor to support them through the course.
